SHRINERS CHILDREN’S OPEN: betting guide
Are you taking Lexi Thompson?
Thompson herself will be taking a page from the playbook of the likes of Michelle Wie and Annika Sorenstam when she becomes the latest top female player to compete against the men in a PGA Tour event.

FORTINET CHAMPIONSHIP: betting guide
It’s almost fall in Napa, harvest season. Talk about a good time to make some picks. The Fortinet Championship, at Silverado Resort, marks the start of the 2023 FedEx Cup fall season, a seven-event run that gives players outside the top-50 bubble a chance to rack up FedEx Cup points that might help that gain access to big events next year.

TOUR Championship: betting guide
It’s Tour Championship week at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, the epic season-ender with a whopping purse and a weird format. With $75 million up for grabs and $18 million earmarked for the winner alone, the event gets underway with a staggered leaderboard based on the current FedEx Cup standings. As the top man in the points race, Scheffler will begin the tournament at 10 under, two shots ahead of Viktor Hovland, three clear of Rory McIlroy, four in front of Jon Rahm, and so on down the line.

BMW Championship: betting guide
Cinderella stories arise frequently, just as runaway favorites often shoot bad rounds. The game is fickle. Anyone who tells you they can see what’s coming is likely either lying or deluded.
None of which will stop us from giving it a stab.
And this week, at least, our odds are slightly improved. The BMW Championship is on tap, the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and the field has been whittled to 50 players. That’s three less than an NFL roster. With such a tiny pool, we stand a fighting chance.

FedEx St. Jude Championship: betting guide
And then there were 70.
With the PGA Tour’s regular season in the books, it’s on to the 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs, featuring a newly reduced playoff field.
Only 70 competitors are in the mix, down from the traditional 125, as the post-season gets underway this week at the FedEx St. Championship, at TPC Southwind in Memphis.

Wyndham Championship: betting guide
Wyndham Clark will not be in the field at the Wyndham Championship. He can afford to take the week off. The same can’t be said for Justin Thomas, who needs to stay busy if he hopes to keep his 2023 campaign alive. As the final event of the PGA Tour regular season, the Wyndham is the last chance for players outside the FedEx Cup bubble to burst their way into the playoffs.

THE open: betting guide
If one were to ask me what my favorite major championship is in April, my answer would be the Masters. Ask me the same question in July, though, and my answer is always the Open Championship. I’m torn between these two but am always equally fired up depending on the time of the year. Ask my wife the same question, her answer is easy: The Open, because he (Brady) sleeps on the couch for four nights, enjoying live major championship golf in the wee hours for us stateside.

Genesis scottish open: betting guide
For years, Tour pros have traveled overseas to play in the Scottish Open, looking to tune up their links game in advance of the Open Championship. For the second straight season, what is now the Genesis Scottish Open is part of the official Tour schedule as a co-sanctioned event between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour. The field has never been better. Only three players outside of the top 12 in the Official World Golf Ranking will be absent this week: Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith and Jon Rahm.

John Deere Classic: betting guide
While Fowler will not be in the field for the first time in four weeks, it will be the third week in a row on Tour that we can expect another birdie-fest. Keegan Bradley won the Travelers Championship with a blood-red 23-under four-day total. Fowler won in a playoff over Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin after all three finished at 24 under par. And if you look back over the past 13 seasons, the winning score at the John Deere has averaged a shade better than 21 under. The 72-hole winning score prop bet this week is set at 262.5, meaning the over-under line is 21.5-under.

Rocket Mortgage Classic: betting guide
The PGA Tour heads to Detroit, Mich., this week for the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic, and we’re picking a Tour rookie as our long-shot to win. Here’s our pick, the Rocket Mortgage Classic odds and betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP: BETTING GUIDE
The Travelers Championship has been a stalwart on the PGA Tour schedule for more than 70 years. But in 2023, it has elevated status as a designated event. That means that just one week removed from the U.S. Open, we’ve got another star-studded field.

U.S. open: betting guide
The third major championship of 2023 is the 123rd U.S. Open. For the first time in 75 years, the championship will be staged in Los Angeles; not since 1948, when Ben Hogan won at Riviera, has the tournament come to Tinsel Town. This time, we are at another George Thomas design, not far from Riv: the North Course at Los Angeles Country Club.
RBC CANADIAN OPEN: BETTING GUIDE
The RBC Canadian Open falls into an unfortunate gap on the PGA Tour schedule, between an elevated event and a major championship. But 10 of the Top 30 players in the Official World Golf Ranking have made the trip north of the border to Oakdale Golf & Country Club, in Toronto.
THE MEMORIAL: BETTING GUIDE
Outside of the major championships, there are a handful of fantastic weeks on the PGA Tour calendar, and few better than the Memorial. It’s held at Jack’s place, Muirfield Village, in Dublin, Oh., a course that Nicklaus built in 1974 and where he staged the first Memorial two years later. This is an invitational, so the field is small. In 2023, it is especially strong as the Memorial now enjoys elevated status as one of the Tour’s designated events.
CHARLES SCHWAB CHALLENGE: BETTING GUIDE
Two weeks after wrapping up the AT&T Byron Nelson, in McKinney, Tex., we are back in the Lone Star State for the Charles Schwab Challenge, at Colonial Country Club — an iconic Fort Worth course that has long been associated with Nelson’s buddy, Ben Hogan. The run of legendary names will continue next week at the Memorial, a course built by tournament host, Jack Nicklaus. Nelson. Hogan. Nicklaus. That’s three of the best to ever play the game, represented over a four-week stretch on Tour.
PGA CHAMPIONSHIP: BETTING GUIDE
Golf’s second major championship of the season is upon us. The 105th PGA Championship will take place at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY., the host course to six major championships since it opened for play in 1926.
AT&T BYRON NELSON: BETTING GUIDE
Following the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, the PGA Tour has been on a run of tournaments that feature big, long courses — and it continues beyond this week with Oak Hill Country Club hosting the PGA Championship next week. Mexico Open host Vidanta Vallarta measured more than 7,500 yards; Quail Hollow Club was just less than 7,500 yards; and this week we arrive at TPC Craig Ranch, a par-71 that is 7,400-plus yards.
WELLS FARGO CHAMPIONSHIP: BETTING GUIDE
This week brings another Designated event, the Wells Fargo Championship, and at one of the finest courses in the country, Quail Hollow Club, which is playing host to the tournament for the 16th time. Most of the top players in the world are here and for many this may be their final tune-up before the PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Of the notables, only Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler have decided to skip this week. Next week is the Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas, and then it is on to Oak Hill and the quest for the Wanamaker Trophy.
MEXICO OPEN: BETTING GUIDE
The Mexico Open at Vidanta, formerly known as the Mexican Open, dates back to 1944, but this is just the second year that it has been a part of the PGA Tour schedule. Jon Rahm won it last year on the same course we’ll see this week: Vidanta Vallarta, a resort property situated less than a mile from the coast between Nuevo and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Rahm’s four-day tally was 17 under par.
ZURICH CLASSIC: BETTING GUIDE
Born as a traditional stroke-play event, the Zurich was converted to a two-person team competition in 2017. There are 160 players in the field this week, which — if I’ve got my grade-school match correct — means 80 two-man teams. As a stroke-play event, this tournament’s appeal had been waning. But the team format has given it pizzaz, elevating fan and player interest. It gives the players a break from the weekly routine and allows them to team up with friends, college mates, and countrymen. There is a lot on the line in the way of FedExCup points, major championship exemptions, and, of course, cash, so the competition remains stiff while the camaraderie of a dual effort makes it extra fun.
